Reminder: Please have your Science Fair project completed by Wednesday! The Science Fair will be at 1:30. You should bring all of your materials to school that day and have it ready to present at 1:30.
Today's Assignments:
Spelling: Week 11 (words with Latin roots) practice and WS 51. There will be NO pretest this week, only a final test on Wednesday.
Math: WB p. 37-38--you may use a calculator.
Handwriting: WS p. 49-50
Reading: "The Upside Down Voyage" group: Finish the rest of the story. Write down one other passage with descriptive writing and circle the descriptive words. Be ready for our next group on Monday next week.
"Daniel and the Great Bearded One": Find ideas to compare and contrast Daniel and Roger, if you haven't finished reading through chapter 2, please do that.
Word Work: Noun review 1 and 2 and Nouns 9
Work on Writing: Revise your story and write a fresh copy free of errors.
Geography: Time For Kids (read the newspaper and complete the three worksheets to go with it)
If you haven't already done so, please turn in the order forms for our published book. I will need those before we send in our packets in December.
Also, the Book Fair is open Monday through Wednesday this week. If you would like to bring money to purchase items you may.

What a wonderful day it is outside! I hope that you all are able to enjoy some of the sunlight left at the end of the day and these unusually warm temperatures! Wow!
Here are the assignments for today:
Spelling: pretest week 9--write the words 3x or 10x
Reading: finish rough draft of story, figurative language sheet and plot (for those in work on writing) and prefixes and suffixes (for those in word work) "Almost Undone" should finish the story "Batty" and "Daniel and the Great Bearded One" should finish the story.
Math: Checkpoint 5
Geography: Map Skills: Canada and work on the "Country Fact Sheet: Canada" and "Resources of Canada"
Also, there are a few conference slips that still need to be turned in so please return those at your earliest convenience.

Hello,
It looks like a nice, sunny day outside but it seems super cold! Winter is right around the corner so please bring appropriate clothing to head outside for recess. The students will be going out when it's quite cold so hats, boots, mittens and a warm jacket and snowpants are all a good idea.
Homework:
Reading:Word Work, Writing (work on rough draft of story and setting ws) and reading assignments for Daniel and the Great Bearded One and Almost Undone. Also if you were in the group "Mystery at Gettysburg" then you need to read through ch. 2.
Spelling WS 42-43
Math: p. 120-121 problems 1-34
Science: Lab (in class)

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Our fundraising items came in last week and I was finally able to sort through them today. I just sent them home with the kids if they thought they could carry the boxes. They weren't too big. Please let me know if you have any problems with your order.
Remember there is no school on Wednesday due to a staff development day.
