Dear Parents and Guardians,

The end of the school year is approaching quickly. We have just finished the first round of MCA II testing this week and are preparing for the math tests next Tuesday, April 20, and Wednesday, April 21. Please encourage your child to do their best and help them to get a good night’s sleep before the tests.

We are going to have several events happening before the end of the year. The dates are listed below. These dates are all “subject to change” and if there are any changes I will let you know.

Thursday, April 29—Poetry and Punch
Monday, May 24—Elementary Science Fair (starts at 1:30)
Wednesday, May 26 –Spring Music Concert
Friday, May 28—Elementary Field Day
Tuesday, June 1—Elementary Awards Day
Wednesday, June 3—Last day of classes

Students should have their poem for Poetry and Punch chosen by Friday, April 16. Practice for their poem should be done at home or during free time in school. I will not be setting class time aside for poem practice. Students should also be thinking about a project to do for the Science Fair. I will only be allowing a day or so for in class work. All other work time should happen at home. If your child needs materials they need to come see me and I will try to help them in any way possible.
